A well-judged front-running ride by Brian Higgins helped honest gelding Emperors Chariot to victory.
Overcoming the outside barrier, Emperors Chariot was travelling well on the home turn and kicked away proving to strong on the line.
"Ray had him trained to perfection today, we knew we had a fit horse so instead of getting caught wide from the outside draw we elected to go forward and just rate him easily through the early stages of the race, and then slowly build the whole way," Higgins said
"He is tough and always keeps fighting to the line. He gave me a good kick on the turn and proved his toughness.
" I wish I had a stable full of him" Ray said
"He gives 110% every time he goes around I just love him.
