Tough and talented mare Astro Miss continues to hold her form, and it was good to see her back into the winners stall.
Deserving of her victory despite not having much luck in previous outings. Doing a bit of early work from an outside gate, Astro Miss travelled sweetly for James Bates getting clear approaching the turn and maintaining an easy lead right to the line, saluting in style.
"It's always nice to get a winner for her owner" Ray said.
"He's been more than good to me over the years and it's nice to be able to give thanks with a winner.
She is a very genuine mare – she always tries her hardest."
