EMPEROR’S Chariot arrived on the scene at Sale on Sunday – scoring in good style in the $17,500 Skilled 0-64 Handicap (1200m) on the clubs Cup Day.

Having had Red Inca turn in a positive performance in the day’s feature event, Emperor’s Chariot followed up an impressive first-up performance at Cranbourne a fortnight earlier. With Peter Mertens continuing his association with the son of Holy Roman Emperor, the horse settled back from an inside draw and let down well to overcome his opposition.

Having always showed potential, the horse boasts an impressive record that includes two wins and three placing’s from just eight starts.

Hopefully this campaign he can show his best at metropolitan level.

Congratulations to the winning connections: Mr B D Besanko, Mr A G Westwood, Mr P G D Maloney, Mr W G Clifford, Mr E Sakareassen, Mr K J Goodall, Mr W M Goodall, Mr R G Blanche, Mr B J Isard, Ms K L Shields, Mr M W Lowe
