Always racing on or near the speed, he showed his trademark grit again in the final 200m of his latest assignment at Sandown.
Brian Higgins was aboard Emperors Chariot and was full of praise, admiring the horses courage and desire to win. “He is a real winner,” Higgins said. “There aren't to many out there that out do him for his honesty and consistency. He keeps improving all the time. He was entitled to stop today. He had to do it tough at both ends but he doesn't know how to give in.
“He gives his all in every race and it makes my job a lot easier when you ride a horse like him.
“He puts himself in a good position, and he is always tough to the line.
Ray said "I wish I had a stable full of him"; if they all went out and tried as hard as he does my job would be allot easier. I absolutely love this horse.
