History was made as the Ray Besanko-trained Well Kept etched himself into the record books as the first-ever winner on the new Polytrack at Racing.com and doing it carrying the famous Peter Pan colors. Peter Pan was famous for winning the Melbourne Cup twice, in 1932 and 1934. The first horse in 72 years to take home a second Melbourne Cup.

Ridden by Gavin Bedggood, the three-year-old went back early and finished over the top to get racing at Victoria’s newest synthetic track underway.

“It’s always nice to win anywhere but to win the first race here is just terrific. Peter Pan etched himself into the record books 82 years ago winning the Melbourne Cup twice and today Well Kept writes his own little bit of history," Besanko said.

Gavin Bedggood full of praise “It’s great and it's good to do it for Ray as well. He has been a supporter of mine for the past 12 months,”

Congratulations Barry Besanko, Kasey Besanko, Richard Evans, Andrew Shanahan and Adam Tuckwell
