After a frustrating run of 7 seconds for the Besanko Stable over the last few months Emperor's Chariot provided the stable with some joy and excitement with a hard fought win at Werribee.
Jumping well from an inside barrier after some ordinary draws in his past few starts Emperor's brought up his 3rd career win from only 13 starts leading all the way over 1400m.
Brian Park elected to race him forward after jumping well and it proved to to be the winning move with him putting pay to the field as they turned for home winning on the line by a half neck as the second placegetter drove home late at him.
The recent addition of blinkers to his racing gear has certainly seen a much more switched on horse in his last few starts and Ray believes he'll certainly work through his classes from here based upon Saturday's win.
Let's hope this is the start of a winning run not only for the Chariot but for the stable who have certainly been around the money with a variety of runners over the past few months.
