Zoe Mae has started the new year with a bang, taking out the BM 58 (1200m) at Kilmore today.

Jumping away well, jockey Alexandra Bryn took full advantage of the good draw (Barrier 4) and settled the 5yo mare in fifth spot on the fence as the field of ten completed the first furlong.

It was clear to see that Zoe Mae was travelling well as the field rounded the home turn, and Bryn bided her time before easy to the outside at the top of the straight.

A perfect timed run saw Zoe Mae hit the lead inside of the final 100m and under the urgings of Bryn, she found the line well, defying several late challengers to score.

It was the third career win for Zoe Mae
